02:03 pm - You could knock me over with a feather.

Apparently 20th Century Fox is also, finally, releasing the final seasons of THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW BUT here's the catch. They're not selling them separately. In order to get them, you have to buy their new "Complete Series" box set.

Heinous.

10:57 am - Bizarre wikipedia fact:
In February 2000, [Rex] Reed was arrested for shoplifting after leaving a Tower Records, in Manhattan, with CDs by Mel Tormé, Peggy Lee, and Carmen McRae in his jacket pockets. Reed, who had just purchased two other CDs, says he forgot about the other 3 CDs and his offer to pay for them was refused.[4] The charges were later dropped.

11:42 am - "She said that if I didn't introduce her as The Queen of Latin Soul, she wouldn't come out."
Last night a documentary maker came to UCLA to show her upcoming PBS documentary LA LUPE: QUEEN OF LATIN SOUL.

I'd criminally never heard of La Lupe before.

But I was ELECTRIFIED. I think the last time that a performer literally drew me involuntarily closer to the screen was when I saw LITTLE VOICE in the theater. But that couldn't compare! The power! The glory! I imagine this is what everybody else felt when they saw Jennifer Hudson perform AND I AM TELLING YOU in DREAMGIRLS.

Don't get me wrong, it was a good performance. But it wasn't LA LUPE!

Watch and learn!

Woot! It's coming! The most over the top Douglas Sirk movie of them all!

I wish that they'd release THE TARNISHED ANGELS, so that I could see it in CinemaScope.

PBS is doing a poll which asks if Palin is qualified to be VP. The right wing has organized a yes campaign--and the "yes" is at the moment winning. Take literally 2 minutes, go to:

Send this on.

from Equality California:

Tell the governor to sign the Harvey Milk Bill.

The right wing has turned up the heat, flooding Gov. Schwarzenegger's office with an overwhelming number of calls opposing our bill that would honor LGBT hero Harvey Milk with a special day of remembrance.

We need to match their calls NOW if we want the bill to be signed.

Press 1 for AB 2567
Press 1 again to voice support.

AB 2567 would have no fiscal impact to the state and would honor an important figure in the civil rights movement, in the same way that we honor other great leaders with state days of special significance. CALL NOW!
